Eva has been helping high net worth individuals, trustees, municipalities and non-profit institutions in Maine for over 30 years. Her prior experience includes all aspects of client service, securities processing and trust operations at Maine National Bank, HM Payson & Company, and TD Wealth Management.

Eva received her Financial Planning Qualified Professional (FPQP™) designation from the College for Financial Planning. The designation is granted to those who complete a course of study encompassing the financial planning process as well as the five disciplines of investments, insurance, taxes, retirement, and estate planning. Eva also received Paralegal Certification at the Institute for Paralegal Studies in 1988.

A longtime resident of Maine, Eva has been involved in various community organizations. She is currently a volunteer for the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project.

Laura Baecher

Laura joined Bigelow Investment Advisors’ administrative team in April 2015.  She brings many years of experience in office administration and customer service, working previously as the office manager at a midcoast architectural firm.

Originally from New Jersey, Laura earned her B.A. from St. Lawrence University (Canton, NY), with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in English. Upon moving to Portland in the 1980s she took a job at the Portland Museum of Art, working in the Curatorial Department and then the Education Department.

While raising her family Laura worked in customer service at a specialty shop, volunteered in the local school system, and was an instructor at Bowdoin Summer Art Camp.

She resides in Brunswick with her husband and has two grown children.

Marsha Causton

Marsha has been providing administrative and client support at Wind River Capital Management since 1994. Marsha graduated from Cumberland County College, Vineland, New Jersey with an AS in Paralegal Studies and worked in the legal field from 1975 thru 1982.

A native of south Jersey, Marsha has lived in the Ellsworth area since 1985.

A member of Beta Sigma Phi, an international women’s service organization since 1988, Marsha has held all offices including President several times and was twice voted Woman of the Year.

Marsha has been involved in several charitable and non-profit organizations in the local community. She organized Ellsworth’s father/daughter dance from 1995 to 2005, a fundraiser for local community organizations. Marsha volunteers and prepares meals for the local women’s shelter as well as the local homeless shelter. She is a past member of the Downeast YMCA Board of Directors.

Marsha resides in Ellsworth and has two grown children.

Kathryn has more than 30 years of experience in business finance and investment management providing asset management for individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations. Kathryn is an excellent resource for entrepreneurs, family business owners, and others with specialized financial needs. Prior to co-founding Bigelow Investment Advisors, Kathryn was a senior vice president and investment director at TD Banknorth Wealth Management.

Kathryn earned her B.A. in Political Science from Brandeis University and her M.B.A. from Cornell University. Kathryn is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

After graduating from Cornell, Kathryn worked for Bank of Boston in their Treasury Department. In 1984, Kathryn moved to Maine and joined the Investment Division of UNUM where she was a securities analyst specializing in the financial services and transportation industries. In 1991, Kathryn and a business partner started Acadia Asset Management which she eventually folded into Peoples Heritage Trust and Investment Group in 1997.

Kathryn has served on many non-profit boards and on her town planning board. She is currently a member of the Investment Committee of the Maine Women’s Fund.

Ben believes that helping someone achieve their financial goals is a step toward enabling that person to live an authentic and fulfilled life. He enjoys seeing his clients doing the things that matter most to them. Ben has over 15 years experience working in the financial services industry.

He specializes in working with clients that are seeking advice on the transition to retirement and all of the complexities involved in making that change. He also works with mid-career professionals that are juggling several financial goals that are often difficult to prioritize because of how important all of these goals are to that particular family.

Ben’s thoughts on financial planning have been featured in national publications including Forbes, HuffPost, U.S. News & World Report, and PBS’ Next Avenue.

Ben resides in Scarborough with his wife and their two children.

William M. Hunter II

Bill began his investment management career in 1977 at Depositors Trust Company in Augusta, Maine. In 1980 Bill joined Canal National Bank in Portland. Following the acquisition of both banks in 1984 by Key Corp, Bill was named Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. By 1987, he was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Key Trust Company of Maine.

Over the course of Bill’s career within the Key Corp organization, Bill was elevated to Executive Vice President of the Corporation with executive responsibilities for Key’s Trust and Investment Management Group with companies in Alaska, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Bill’s affinity and desire to work directly with clients – individuals, families and institutions – is where his passions lie. This desire led Bill back to Maine where he joined Wind River Capital Management, opening the Brunswick office in 2006 and ultimately becoming a partner in the firm. On January 2, 2018 Wind River Capital merged with Bigelow Investment Advisors.

Bill is a graduate of Central College, Pella, Iowa, with a B.A. in History and Political Science.

A U.S. Army veteran, Bill has served on numerous civic, cultural and charitable boards over many years and is currently a Trustee of Brunswick’s Pejepscot Endowment Trust. Bill is Secretary of the Megantic Fish & Game Corporation and is a member of its Executive Committee. He is an active member of the Elijah Kellogg Congregational Church, led a successful restoration and preservation capital campaign and has served in a variety of leadership roles over the years.

Michael believes you can do well and do good. Michael partners with individuals and institutions to help them achieve their financial goals and positively impact their communities and families. He enjoys creating financial plans and investment strategies that incorporate a client’s values and promote positive social and environmental outcomes. Michael has over 20 years of investment management and financial planning experience.

Michael specializes in retirement planning, integrating financial planning and investment management and socially responsible investing. He enjoys working with professionals seeking advice on major financial decisions such as retirement timing, retirement funding options, coordinating employer retirement accounts (401k) and family investment accounts and college education planning.

Michael holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He is a member of the CFA Society Maine, CFA Society Boston, Maine Estate Planning Council, and Financial Planning Association.

He lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife and three children. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Maine where he teaches a financial management course. Michael is a Trout Unlimited volunteer. He also serves on the CFA Society Maine Board and Cape Elizabeth Soccer Board. He is a member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Endowment Committee. He has volunteered as a bereavement counselor for the Center for Grieving Children and served on its board of directors.

Barbara Moran

Barbara Moran

Barbara has been with Bigelow since its inception in 2007. She has been providing service to investment clients (including individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations) for 20 years. Prior to joining Bigelow, she was an investment specialist with TD Banknorth Wealth Management.

Barbara grew up in Lewiston where she resides with her husband.  She graduated Phi Theta Kappa from Central Maine Community College in 2002 with an associate’s degree in Business Administration. Barbara is currently involved with charitable organizations in her community.  She volunteers in a variety of capacities at her church in Lewiston and has been preparing and serving food at a local soup kitchen for the past several years.

Gary Robinson

Gary has been in the banking and investment business in Maine since 1980. He has many years of experience guiding individuals, institutions and retirement plans on investing their assets to accomplish their financial goals.

Gary and Kathryn Dion together founded Bigelow Investment Advisors in 2007.  Since then the company has grown to approximately 300 clients with over $300 million in assets. Prior to founding Bigelow, Gary was an executive vice president with TD Banknorth Wealth Management in Portland, Maine. His responsibilities included managing all client services for Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Gary has served on many local non-profit boards, including The Center for Grieving Children, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Family Crisis Services, The Institute for Civic Leadership and Junior Achievement. He has been very involved in the governance of these boards including service as President and Treasurer.

Gary graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1979 with a BS in Business Administration and has attended many professional development courses over the years in investment management and administration.

J. Benjamin Wootten

J. Benjamin Wootten

Ben has been part of the Maine investment community since helping found Winslow Investments, Maine’s first discount broker, in 1981. In addition to chairing the investment committee, he served as head of compliance and CFO.

After Maine Savings Bank bought Winslow, Ben formed two brokerage financial services firms (Dirigo Investments, 1987, and Wootten Financial Services, 1995) and later established a Registered Investment Advisory Firm, Wind River Capital Management.

Ben graduated from Stanford University with a major in history and a minor in political science. After two years in the U.S. Army,
he returned to Stanford and received an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business Administration with a concentration in economic development.

Ben has been deeply involved in education in the community, having been a member of the Board at George Stevens Academy for over 20 years and on the Blue Hill School Board for almost as long.
