1. What are your credentials and experience?

Our advisors have over 80 combined years of investment management, financial advisory, and financial planning experience. Two advisors at the firm hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and another advisor holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

2. Are you independent?

Yes. We are a privately held company controlled by our employees. We adhere to a fiduciary standard which requires us to put our clients’ interests ahead of our own. Our commitment is to our clients and offering objective, independent advice and solutions.

3. How do you approach investing for people like me?

We develop an investment and financial plan that is tailored to your specific needs. Your portfolio will be based on your goals, time horizon, income needs, and comfort with risk. Our approach is proactive and personal; the focus will be centered on you and your financial and life goals. This will allow us to create an investment and financial plan tailored to your needs.

6. How often will we communicate?

You will receive quarterly updates on your investment performance and periodic reviews of your financial plan. We tailor the method and frequency of our communications to your needs.  You can contact us as often as you like. Your advisor team may also contact you regarding firm events, market events,  topics of interest to you, tax and cash planning and other needs.

7. Where will my assets be held?

We use institutional custodians to safeguard clients’ assets. These custodians provide important services such as executing trades and preparing brokerage statements for clients. Charles Schwab is our preferred institutional custodian.

8. How will I know if I am on track?

Your advisor team will get to know you, your financial concerns, and your goals. This will allow us to create an investment and financial plan tailored to your needs and measure how you are tracking.

9. How are you compensated?

Our fee structure is simple, transparent, and easy to understand. Our fees are based on a percentage of assets managed. We sell no products and receive no commissions.

10. Will my investments be managed by a team or an individual?

Bigelow uses a team approach to serving clients. Your team will consist of an investment advisor and an administrative officer. Together, they will ensure that all the details of your relationship with Bigelow are updated and accurate. Your team is supported by the Investment Policy Committee and the Compliance Committee.
