Michael believes you can do well and do good. Michael partners with individuals and institutions to help them achieve their financial goals and positively impact their communities and families. He enjoys creating financial plans and investment strategies that incorporate a client’s values and promote positive social and environmental outcomes. Michael has over 20 years of investment management and financial planning experience.

Michael specializes in retirement planning, integrating financial planning and investment management and socially responsible investing. He enjoys working with professionals seeking advice on major financial decisions such as retirement timing, retirement funding options, coordinating employer retirement accounts (401k) and family investment accounts and college education planning.

Michael holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He is a member of the CFA Society Maine, CFA Society Boston, Maine Estate Planning Council, and Financial Planning Association.

He lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife and three children. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Maine where he teaches a financial management course. Michael is a Trout Unlimited volunteer. He also serves on the CFA Society Maine Board and Cape Elizabeth Soccer Board. He is a member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Endowment Committee. He has volunteered as a bereavement counselor for the Center for Grieving Children and served on its board of directors.

CFA: Chartered Financial Analyst. This designation is issued by the CFA Institute. Candidates must have one of the following prerequisites: possess an undergraduate degree and four years of professional experience investment decision making; or four years of qualified work experience (full time, but not necessarily investment related). The candidate is required to follow a self-study program involving 250 hours of study for each of the following three disciplines: Level One: Ethics & Professional Standards; Level Two: Investment Tools & Asset Classes; and Level Three: Portfolio Management & Wealth Planning. Once the designation is issued, no further Continuing Education is required.
