Kathryn Dion, CFA — President
Kathryn has more than 20 years of experience in business finance and investment management providing asset management for individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations. As a small business owner, Kathryn is an excellent resource for entrepreneurs, family business owners and others with specialized financial needs.
Kathryn has served on many non-profit boards and on her town planning board. She has been involved with endowments, scholarship funds and non-profit grants.
Kathryn earned her B.A. in political science from Brandeis University. She earned her M.B.A. from Cornell University, and earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Gary Robinson — Chief Executive Officer
Gary has been in the banking and investment business in Maine since 1980. His many years of experience include guiding individuals, institutions and retirement plans on investing their assets to accomplish their goals.
In 1995 Gary started the People's Heritage Trust and Investment Group in Portland and Bangor, Maine – leading it to over $3 billion in client assets. Today, he is focused on the exciting opportunities of leading this new firm and applying his 20 years of investment experience on behalf of the clients of Bigelow Investment Advisors LLC.
Gary has served on many local non-profit boards, including: The Center for Grieving Children, Family Crisis Services, The Institute for Civil Leadership and Junior Achievement. He has been very involved in the governance of these boards and fund raising efforts. Most recently he was President of the Center for Grieving Children, and currently serves as Past President and Co-Chair for their Capital Campaign – "Making Room for Hope".
He graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1979 with a BS in Business Administration, and has attended many professional development courses over the years in investment management and administration.
Larry Pelletier, CFP — Senior Vice President
Larry has more than 20 years of experience helping clients with their financial affairs. His expertise includes assisting multigenerational asset transfers, financial planning for retirement and college savings and investment recommendations for accomplishing client goals.
In 1994 Larry joined Peoples Heritage Bank Trust and Investment Group where he opened and grew the Bangor and Lewiston, Maine offices. He was a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor for TD Banknorth for the last 10 years. Larry joins Bigelow Investment Advisors as a Senior Vice President where he will concentrate on advising individual, business, and non-profit clients.
Larry received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1987 from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. The CFP designation requires continuing education and credits in the study of investments, insurance, taxes, retirement planning, and estate planning. He attended Gordon College from 1968 - 1972.
Larry has volunteered and served on several community boards and committees such as Good Shepherd Food Bank, Maine Music Society, United Way of Androscoggin Valley, United Way of Penobscot Valley, and Rural Community Action Ministry (RCAM).
Barbra Moran — Asst. Vice President
Barbra Moran has more than seven years of experience servicing investment clients, including individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations. Before joining Bigelow, she was an investment specialist with TD Banknorth Wealth Management.
A resident of Lewiston, Moran grew up in Lewiston and is a 1980 graduate of Lewiston High School. She received her associate’s degree in Business Administration from Central Maine Community College in 2002. Moran has served as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s School and Church and St. Dominic High School.
James Bennett, Ph.D., CFA — Senior Investment Strategist
Jim worked as a financial analyst at UNUM for several years. He has been a faculty member at a number of universities, including University of Otago, New Zealand, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Massachusetts Boston, and the University of Southern Maine.
Jim earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1986. He received a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. His research on asset pricing and investments has been published in a number of top journals, including the Financial Analysts Journal and the American Economic Review.
Jim serves on the board of the Maine CFA society and is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Maine State Retirement System.
